ABOUT

Elli Xypolitaki (b.1995, GR) is a photographer, multimedia storyteller, and educator. She works across photography, audio, and film, blending documentary and research-based approaches to explore complex narratives at the intersection of society, identity, and the environment.

Her work delves into the socio-political dynamics of contemporary society, exploring the impact of neoliberal capitalism on selfhood, the anthropogeography of industrial communities, and the relationship between urban landscapes and social structures. She is equally invested in environmental issues, examining the interplay between natural and constructed environments and the interaction between human identity and the changing natural world.

She holds a BA and MA in Psychology from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the University of Sheffield, respectively, and studied Photography at the Orama Photography Studies Institute in Athens, with a scholarship from Fujifilm Hellas. As a psychology-trained creative, she also explores photography’s therapeutic and social potential, running workshops on therapeutic and participatory photography for diverse social groups.

In the multimedia world, Elli sees each story as a puzzle—an evolving challenge to capture its depth, emotion, and meaning. For her, audiovisual storytelling is more than just sharing information; it’s about creating an experience that engages the senses, provokes curiosity, and influences how we think and remember. Whether through photographic works, audio documentaries, or larger creative collaborations, she aims to bring stories to life in ways that are both meaningful and memorable.

She is based in Athens and is available for assignments and collaborations across Greece and Europe. If you're interested in exploring creative possibilities together, feel free to reach out.
