Morphology of a Stange Land [2021-22]
When I moved to Athens in 2019, the city immediately felt like a strange, overwhelming land. Having grown up in the provinces, the vastness and chaos of Athens—with its endless concrete and relentless pace—left me feeling disconnected and suffocated. The natural world, which had always felt like home, seemed distant, buried beneath layers of cement and steel.
Morphology of a Strange Land emerged from my need to find moments of relief in this overwhelming environment. Through photography, I began to navigate the city and the wider Attica region, seeking traces of nature that could anchor me—quiet spaces breaking through the urban density. This process became a way of understanding my own struggle to adapt, to find peace in a place that initially felt hostile. This collection of photos reflects my personal quest to reconnect with the natural elements that Athens often hides and to seek balance within its chaotic urban landscape.
