Narrating Womanhood: A Photography Workshop Exploring Women’s Lived Experiences

Workshop Overview

This workshop is designed for women photographers of all skill levels who are interested in creating or expanding a photographic project that reflects their personal experiences as women. It offers a platform to explore any aspect of women’s lives, such as interpersonal relationships, career, self-image, the body, motherhood, sexuality, gender stereotypes, and the portrayal of women in film and media. Participants are encouraged to use any approach or medium they prefer, including analogue and digital photography, archival footage, or even smartphones.

Guidance and Theoretical Exploration

Throughout the workshop, participants will receive comprehensive support at every stage of their project, from conception and methodology to editing. In addition to hands-on guidance, the course includes theoretical discussions focused on works by female photographers and an analysis of women’s roles in contemporary photography. Key topics such as feminism, gender identity, gender equality, and the current cultural and political landscape will be explored in depth.

A Safe and Inclusive Creative Space

The workshop aims to foster an open, inclusive, and supportive environment where participants can safely share their stories and develop visual narratives that represent women’s diverse and complex realities today. Photography will serve as the main tool for expressing these multifaceted experiences.
